Blues' Nathan Walker: Undergoes wrist surgery
Walker underwent a small "tidy-up" surgery on his wrist recently, Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Walker's surgery is considered less significant than the one Alexei Toropchenko (shoulder) underwent recently. The 28-year-old Walker's status for training camp isn't likely to be in doubt, though he may initially be eased into on-ice activities if his recovery lags. Walker is expected to compete for a bottom-six role in 2022-23 after posting career highs in points (12) and games played (30) last season.

Blues' Alexei Toropchenko: Undergoes shoulder surgery
Toropchenko had shoulder surgery recently and will be out until at least December, Jeremy Rutherford of The Athletic reports.
The 23-year-old winger tallied two goals in 28 games as a rookie last season before chipping in two assists in 12 postseason appearances. Toropchenko should be expected to land on injured reserve once the season begins, as he's going to miss roughly the first two months of the 2022-23 campaign. He should return to a bottom-six role once healthy.

Blues' Calle Rosen: Signs two-year extension
Rosen signed a two-year, two-way contract extension with the Blues on Wednesday.
Rosen spent most of the 2021-22 season in the minors, racking up 28 points through 40 contests, but he also drew into 18 games with the big club, picking up seven points over that span. He'll likely have a similar role within the Blues organization over the next two campaigns.

Blues' Jordan Binnington: Avoids knee surgery
Binnington will not require surgery on his injured knee, Jeremy Rutherford of The Athletic reports Tuesday.
Binnington appeared to have rediscovered his game in the playoffs, going 4-1 with a 1.75 GAA in five outings before suffering a knee injury in Game 3 against Colorado on May 21. The 28-year-old netminder found himself watching from the bench for much of the regular season in favor of Ville Husso but will no doubt be hoping his playoff performance can propel him into resecuring the starting job heading into the 2022-23 campaign.

Blues' Calle Rosen: Hits waivers
Rosen was waived by St. Louis on Saturday, James Mirtle of The Athletic reports.
Look for Rosen to join AHL Springfield in the highly likely event he passes through waivers unclaimed. The 28-year-old Swede has racked up 28 points through 40 minor-league appearances this year.

Blues' Niko Mikkola: Grabs helper in loss
Mikkola notched an assist and two blocked shots in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Avalanche in Game 6.
Mikkola's first and only point of the playoffs was the secondary helper on a Justin Faulk tally in the first period. In 12 playoff outings, Mikkola added 36 hits, 21 blocked shots and eight PIM as a physical presence. He was likely playing above his level a bit -- the absence of Torey Krug (lower body) required Mikkola to see more of a top-four role than expected. The 26-year-old had 13 points, 109 hits, 81 blocked shots and 55 PIM in 54 regular-season outings. He's an arbitration-eligible restricted free agent this summer, and likely one the Blues will want back on a team-friendly deal to serve in a third-pairing capacity.

Blues' Robert Thomas: Collects assist Friday
Thomas posted an assist and two PIM in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Avalanche in Game 6.
Thomas' offense came alive late in the second round with two goals and an assist in his last two games, but it wasn't enough to save the Blues' season. He set up a Justin Faulk tally in the first period Friday. Thomas had six points, 20 shots on net, 14 hits, 10 PIM and a minus-6 rating in 12 postseason contests, showing some flashes of offense with room to grow on defense. The 22-year-old was excellent with 20 goals, 57 assists and a plus-17 rating in 72 regular-season outings, so he should be a fairly popular mid-to-late round pick in next season's fantasy drafts.

Blues' Brayden Schenn: Chips in with assist
Schenn posted an assist and five hits in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Avalanche in Game 6.
Schenn set up Jordan Kyrou on an odd-man rush that produced the Blues' second goal. With an assist in seven of the last eight games, Schenn was solid on offense, but he wasn't able to find a goal in the playoffs. He finished with eight helpers, 44 hits, 16 shots on net, 14 PIM and a minus-1 rating. The 30-year-old's versatility will keep him as a key part of the Blues' offense heading into next year -- he's under contract for six more seasons.

Blues' Justin Faulk: Pots goal in loss
Faulk scored a goal on three shots, added two hits, blocked two shots and went plus-2 in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Avalanche in Game 6.
Faulk struck for the opening tally with a minute left in the first period. It was his first, and ultimately only, goal of the postseason, as the loss ended the Blues' playoff run. The 30-year-old defenseman was solid with eight points, 29 shots, 34 hits, 19 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating in 12 playoff contests. He did it all in the regular season with 47 points, 149 hits, 101 blocked shots and a plus-41 rating in 76 appearances, and he's expected to remain in a similar top-four role for 2022-23 as part of the Blues' core.

Blues' Jordan Kyrou: Tallies in Game 6 loss
Kyrou scored a goal on five shots and added two hits in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Avalanche in Game 6.
Kyrou's goal gave the Blues a 2-1 lead midway through the second period. The 24-year-old finished the second round with points in five of six games (four goals, one assist), but that's where the Blues' playoff run ended. He had nine points, 32 shots and a minus-4 rating in 12 playoff outings, and he posted 27 goals and 48 helpers in 74 regular-season contests in a breakout year. He's entering a contract year in 2022-23 as he looks to show this year wasn't a fluke.

Blues' Ville Husso: Gives up late goal to lose
Husso allowed three goals on 39 shots in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Avalanche in Game 6.
Husso was steady in goal throughout the game, but he couldn't stop Darren Helm with 5.6 seconds left in the third period. That goal gave the Avalanche the win, ending the Blues' season in the second round. After Jordan Binnington (knee) went down in Game 3, Husso surrendered 16 tallies on 132 shots, losing three of his four appearances in the series. The 27-year-old established himself as an NHL-level goalie this year with a 25-7-6 record, a 2.56 GAA and a .919 save percentage in 40 regular-season outings, and he's set to be an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Blues' Ville Husso: Guarding cage Friday
Husso will start against the Avalanche at home on Friday, Tom Timmermann of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Husso has coughed up 13 goals on 93 shots in three games this series. He allowed four goals on 34 shots in Game 5 but picked up the overtime win to force Friday's Game 6. The 27-year-old is 2-4-0 with a 3.78 GAA and an .884 save percentage during the postseason.

Blues' Torey Krug: Unlikely to return in series
Krug (lower body) is unlikely to return for Game 6 on Friday or Game 7 on Sunday (if necessary) against Colorado, per Jeremy Rutherford of The Athletic.
Krug has missed eight contests after suffering a lower-body injury in the Blues' opening-round series against the Wild. While the 31-year-old defenseman has resumed skating, it doesn't sound like he'll be an option for St. Louis unless the team is able to advance past the Avalanche. Krug recorded 9 goals and 34 assists through 64 contests during the regular season.

Blues' Jordan Kyrou: Scores goal in Game 5
Kyrou scored a goal on two shots in Wednesday's 5-4 overtime win over the Avalanche in Game 5.
Kyrou was credited with the Blues' third goal after the game -- initially, Justin Faulk received the credit. The goal was Kyrou's sixth of the playoffs and his third in five games this series. Through 11 playoff outings, the 24-year-old has eight points, 27 shots on net and a minus-3 rating.

Blues' Alexei Toropchenko: Offers helper in win
Toropchenko posted an assist and two shots on goal in Wednesday's 5-4 overtime win over the Avalanche in Game 5.
Toropchenko set up Justin Faulk's game-tying goal with 4:46 left in the third period. This was Toropchenko's first point in the second round and his second assist in 11 playoff contests overall. The 22-year-old winger has mainly been limited to fourth-line action, where he's added 22 hits, eight shots on net and a plus-2 rating, though it's encouraging to see him maintain his place in the lineup.
